Out of the Darkness Can Meditation Change the World? The amazing story of the ‘meditating president’ — Article published in Psychology Today by Steve Taylor Ph.D. — He wrote in 2012:

Last week a group of my students were giving a presentation on the spiritual philosopher Ken Wilber. It included a video interview in which Wilber remarked, ‘The best way to stop famine in the world is to meditate.’

Some students were outraged, and my initial thought was that the comment was glib and offensive. Surely the best way to stop famine is to provide food, to donate money, or at least to end conflict or reduce corruption?

However, there is a case study which illustrates Wilber’s meaning very clearly. It’s the story of the ‘meditating president’, Joachim Chissano of Mozambique.

Joaquim Chissano: Democrat among the despots [Expired link: http://news.independentminds.livejournal.com/2031253.html] — The Independent reports that the President of Mozambique “is living proof that power doesn’t have to go to the head. Perhaps his zen comes from the Transcendental Meditation he is said to practise.” Chissano says: “First, I started the practice of Transcendental Meditation [a primary component of Invincible Defense Technology] myself, then introduced the practice to my close family, my cabinet of ministers, my government officers and my military. The result has been political peace and balance in nature in my country.”

“Meditation is path to peace, Mozambique leader says” — Article published in The Guardian in 2001. According to the UK based newspaper: “Jacob Hermansen, a Norwegian instructor at the Maharishi Centre, claims to have put down an insurrection in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province last year by leading 200 army officers in yogic flying. He predicts more countries will follow Mozambique’s example.”

“Once I traveled to Mozambique to write a story for Health magazine about President Joaquim Chissano who was a practitioner of transcendental meditation.* Mozambique was engaged in a guerrilla war and TM helped Chissano deal with the stress. He even had his cabinet and army practice TM. It was an odd experience. Chissano and I spent some time rolling around on a huge Persian carpet in his office doing TM. He showed me how to do breathing exercises. I remember spending a lot of time lying on our backs with our legs up in the air. Chissano said that meditation saved him.”

Nepal

How Nepal Can Have an ‘Invincible’ Military — Article by Deepak Prakash Baskota and Dr. David Leffler published in Eurasia Review, World Security Network, and Nepal – the country of the Mt. Everest and the Buddha: Just Another Magnificent World for News and Views. The article explains that if the military of Nepal would deploy Invincible Defense Technology (IDT) they would harness the unified field which “…is a thousand million million times more powerful than the nuclear force…” Nine Latin America countries are expected to their IDT defense systems fully operational around the end of May 2012. The author suggests that this “…IDT development may have far more historical significance than the United States military’s Manhattan Project quest to develop nuclear weapons.”

Halt Nepal’s Political Unrest Now With Vedic Defence — Dr. Kingsley Brooks and Dr. David Leffler argue in their Op-Ed published in the Global Politician that: “Nepal’s foreign policy and defence policy are largely committed to creating a peaceful world. Authors Major General Kulwant Singh and Dr. David Leffler ask: “From a conventional military perspective, defeating an enemy requires boldness, strength, courage, and smarts. How about preventing the birth of an enemy altogether? Can you imagine a greater military objective than that?” They also ask: “Can conventional means totally defend against an unconventional enemy that can hardly be found, much less eliminated?
